Spotless Laundry Tips from Bosch: Detergent, Water and Electricity Saving Made Easy

SINGAPORE, Aug 18, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – Research has shown that post-pandemic, people have amended their laundry habits, developed better hygiene habits and overall become more conscious of environmental impacts on our planet. Laundry will and has always been that never-ending chore – having said that the pandemic has brought it to a new positive light.

More than ever before, laundry products have begun to play an essential role in maintaining one's health and well-being. Cleaning and laundering are part of self-care and caring for our family.

An increase and change in laundry habits

During the various phases of the pandemic, it has been observed that people have been doing more and more frequent laundry – driven by a need for better cleaning and reassurance that they aren't carrying invisible dirt on their clothing. It's not only clothes that are being washed more or more often, since the pandemic, there is also an increase in washing household items more frequently (such as bedding, towels, etc.) to keep the household safe.

On average, a regular 2 kids and 2 adults' household will do laundry 1-3 times a week and spend between 2-5 hours on it. With that, the increasing trend for more intelligent washing machines has been observed.

Doing laundry is still a chore, but with the help of new, more innovative washing machines, can be simplified and even made more economical and environmentally friendly. It may be time to upgrade to a new washing machine that is smarter and will ensure you have perfectly clean laundry with every cycle.

The iDOS Bosch Serie 6

Doing the laundry may seem simple but in reality, precise detergent dosage plays a large part in ensuring perfect wash results. The latest i-DOS Bosch Serie 6 washing machine is there to meet any laundry needs. Check out these 4 Reasons why a Bosch i-DOS washing machine is perfect for your family household.

Perfect wash results every time

Using too little detergent, especially for heavily soiled laundry, can lead to unsatisfactory results – stains and odours may remain on your laundry after the wash. Bosch i-DOS washing machines provide a perfect clean by automatically dispensing the optimal dose of detergent and softener. Thanks to integrated sensors located inside the drum, this innovative feature detects the load volume, fabric type, degree of soiling, and water hardness of every laundry load, in order to determine the optimal amount of detergent and softener to dispense.

No more allergies from detergent residue

Using too much detergent can result in traces of them remaining on your clothes, which may trigger irritation, rashes, and allergies for those with sensitive skin. By using only the precise amount of detergent needed, i-DOS washing machines give you clean, fresh laundry every time. For greater peace of mind, detergent residue can be removed effectively by using the AllergyPlus programme, which treats your laundry with a higher washing temperature and a longer rinse cycle.

Gentle on the environment and utility bills

Contrary to popular belief, using more detergent does not necessarily give you cleaner clothes. In fact, excessive detergent usage may require longer rinses, resulting in increased water and energy consumption. With precise dosing to the nearest millimetre, Bosch i-DOS washing machines use up to 38% less detergent and saves up to 10L of water per washing cycle.

Intelligent dosing technology – top up once for many washes

You only have to fill up detergent once that will last up to 26 washes. Instead of manually dosing detergent and softener for every wash, Bosch i-DOS washing machines have two separate chambers to store up to 1.3 litres of liquid detergent and 0.5 litres of liquid softener for added convenience. Simply fill up the chambers when the automatic alert comes on, and you won't have to refill them again for many laundry loads.

All in all, you can be assured that each wash is intelligently weighed by automatic load detection, i-DOS will assess the dirtiness of the clothes and accordingly dispense water using the automatic programming that will determine the fabrics to be washed and most importantly automatically dose the precise amount of detergent needed for each load.

Using the right amount of detergent guarantees that your laundry is perfectly clean and helps to ensure residue-free laundry. It also means you'll avoid skin irritation and allergies – just right for anyone with sensitive skin.

From now until 31 August 2022, shoppers can get the Bosch i-DOS 9kg front-load washing machine (WGG244A0SG) at $1,399 (U.P. $2,899) and the Bosch i-DOS 10kg one at $1,599 (U.P. $4,199). For a limited time only receive two Persil Odour Eliminators 2.7L (U.P. $12.55) and two Persil Antibacterial Refills 1.5L (U.P. $6.75) thrown into the bundle.

HKTDC International Sourcing Show run with new EXHIBITION+ model draws to successful close

HONG KONG, Jul 18, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the International Sourcing Show physical fair, run with the new EXHIBITION+ (EPLUS) model, drew to a successful close on 15 July. Over 20,000 industry buyers attended the physical event and browsed products online. The event facilitated more than 5,000 business meetings, connecting exhibitors with global buyers both online and offline.

The International Sourcing Show drew to a successful close on 15 July. A large number of industry players were attracted to join the physical fairs.

The physical fairs were held in the form of display showcases, presenting products from seven trade fairs with more than 1,730 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions.

The International Sourcing Show ran with the brand-new online exhibition model EXHIBITION+, facilitating more than 5,000 business meetings online and offline, connecting exhibitors with global buyers.

The International Sourcing Show attracted more than 1,730 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions, presenting in excess of 83,000 products. The show gathered seven trade fairs under one umbrella, including the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Hong Kong Fashion Week, Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, and the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (jointly organised by the CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited). The new EPLUS model helped extend interactions between exhibitors and buyers to the online platform, helping enterprises to continue exploring "blue ocean" opportunities via the smart online business-matching platform Click2Match and hktdc.com Sourcing.

Positive feedback from EPLUS users

Participating exhibitors proactively used Click2Match to search for potential partners and took the initiative to arrange meetings with buyers from all over the world at their own convenience. Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, said: "As the first event to use the new EPLUS exhibition model, the International Sourcing Show has generated positive feedback from users. We are happy to see many exhibitors harness the platform to seize business opportunities, contact global buyers, and facilitate order agreements around the clock and across borders. We will continue to use EPLUS in our upcoming trade fairs to further assist different sectors of Hong Kong business to connect with international buyers."

Connecting to global buyers via online and offline business matching meetings

Rosana Lau, Deputy Marketing Manager of Gold China Development Ltd, which specialises in the production of kitchenware, tableware and home decoration items, explained that the company was looking for new local and overseas buyers through the International Sourcing Show. Using the HKTDC's Click2Match platform, the firm arranged at least eight online meetings with overseas buyers from Brazil, Japan and the United States. Also, with the help of the HKTDC's business matching team, they met with potential buyers from hotel groups and premium online gift shops.

Lubee Chak, Brand Director of Louise Castle Company, a premium fashion brand for tailor-made men's suits and accessories, said that in addition to talking to more than 10 buyers at the physical fair, the HKTDC's business matching team helped the firm arrange online meetings with buyers from Hong Kong, Japan, Mainland China and Thailand, helping it to raise brand awareness and build a stronger foundation for future business development in overseas markets.

Beyond Li, General Manager, Zhejiang Jupeng Drinkware Co Ltd, a company specialising in manufacturing thermal mugs and sports water bottles, said that apart from displaying products at the physical fair of the International Sourcing Show, the company also participated in the online fair to find new customers. They established a number of contacts through the physical fair and talked to around eight gift buyers from France, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines via online meetings. Buyers from Hong Kong and France expressed an intention to place orders worth US$200,000 for their thermal mugs and sports water bottles. The International Sourcing Show provided the company with an effective channel to find quality buyers and capture online-to-offline business opportunities.

On-site business networking sessions

The HKTDC organised two business networking sessions during the physical show to connect buyers and suppliers. Beattie Leung, Sales Manager at Shinzen International Ltd, a distributor and wholesaler of pet supplies and pet food, said the company wanted to add pet backpacks and pet toys to its portfolio and to develop new markets such as Mainland China and Southeast Asia. Through the business networking session, they connected with a potential supplier from which they planned to place an order of 1,000 pet backpacks. Ms Leung said her company felt comfortable working with Hong Kong suppliers because they were reliable and able to provide quality products.

Hector Pang, Chairman of the China Affairs Committee at SME Global Alliance, said the physical edition of the International Sourcing Show provided an ideal platform for its members with factories in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to find new suppliers of raw materials and identify business opportunities. The alliance found a suitable supplier of eco-friendly non-woven bags from Mainland China and decided to place an order of 50,000 pieces that will be distributed to its members.

Zhejiang enterprises reached out to global buyers via International Sourcing Show

The Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province gathered exhibitors from the gifts and printing and packaging industries, forming the largest pavilion at the show. It was also the first time for the Zhejiang Pavilion to participate in the fair remotely. Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, and Chen Zhicheng, Deputy Director General, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, met online to officiate the launch of the Zhejiang Pavilion. Zhu Ying, Director of the Trade and Development Department, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, and Zhang Shuangwen, General Manager of CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited, also joined the ceremony and a group photo-taking session to commemorate the occasion. The opening ceremony can be viewed on the fair website and through the Click2Match platform.

32nd Hong Kong Book Fair opens on 20 July

HONG KONG, Jul 6, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – The 32nd HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will run from 20 to 26 July (Wednesday to Tuesday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). As one of the events celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), this year's Book Fair has invited acclaimed writers and organised over 600 seminars and cultural activities.

Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC

Attending the press conference are (from left) Edmund Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Publishing Federation; Lee Ka-kui, Chairman of the Hong Kong Publishing Federation; Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC; Yau Lop-poon, Editor-in-Chief of Yazhou Zhoukan; and Cheng Po-hung, Honorary Adviser of the Hong Kong Museum

Among the exhibitions in the Art Gallery at the Book Fair are "History Writers", "City Literature", "Tastes of Hong Kong" and "Hong Kong Architecture"

With the overarching theme "History and City Literature", the Book Fair will walk visitors through Hong Kong's cultural and historical development and portray the city's charm through the creations of this year's featured authors, echoing the tagline "Reading the World: Stories of Hong Kong". The Book Fair will run in parallel with the HKTDC Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and HKTDC World of Snacks which are expected to attract a total of over 700 exhibitors, offering visitors stimulation for the brain, body and palate with a single entry ticket.

Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, said: "The theme this year, 'History and City Literature', selected by the Hong Kong Book Fair Cultural Events Advisory Panel, is particularly meaningful. Only through words and texts can the city's historical evolution from a small fishing village to an international metropolis be so well depicted and documented. These countless wonderful books help narrate many of the city's stories and display its unique character in a vivid and timeless way. The Book Fair has invited renowned authors to share their creative journey and spread the joy of reading to the public. The HKTDC Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and HKTDC World of Snacks will be held alongside the Book Fair and offer a selection of sports and leisure products and experiences, as well as tasty treats from around the world."

Thematic exhibitions highlight Hong Kong's culture and history

Aligning with this year's theme, four thematic exhibitions will be staged at the Art Gallery at the HKCEC Hall 3 Concourse. The "History Writers" exhibition will feature the works of five outstanding writers, including (in no particular order) Ting Sun-pao, Lui Tai-lok, Elizabeth Sinn, the late Yeh Ling-feng and Cheng Po-hung. A selection of their books, out-of-print works, manuscripts and precious collections will be displayed to help readers better understand the philosophy behind their lives and creations. The writers will also share insights into researching Hong Kong's history and their writing techniques. Yeh Chung-man will attend the Book Fair on behalf of her late father, Yeh Ling-feng.

"City Literature" will be an interactive exhibition, featuring 25 literary works about Hong Kong and taking readers on a journey through different parts of the city from multiple perspectives such as historical buildings, streets, housing estates and lifestyles.

The two other thematic exhibitions are "Tastes of Hong Kong" and "Hong Kong Architecture". Working in collaboration with Cheng Po-hung, Lau Tsz-chun, James Ng, Wu Gui-long, the Chinese Culinary Institute, Tao Heung Museum of Food Culture and Yung Kee Restaurant, "Tastes of Hong Kong" visualises the evolution of Hong Kong's culinary culture and display artefacts such as a rice dispensing certificate from 1953, a number of valuable old menus, rare vintage tableware, and miniatures of retro restaurants and stalls. Meanwhile, the "Hong Kong Architecture" exhibition is run in partnership with Urban Sketchers Hong Kong and National Geographic, displaying paintings and photographs by artists depicting Hong Kong's historical sites.

"Eight Seminar Series" connects writers with booklovers

The "Eight Seminar Series" continues to be a major highlight at the Book Fair. The topics this year cover a wide spectrum of literary interests, including "Stories of Hong Kong", "Renowned Writers", "English and International Reading", "World of Knowledge", "Children and Youth Reading", "Lifestyle", "Hong Kong Cultural and Historical", and "Personal Development and Spiritual Growth", encouraging the general public to explore different book genres and cultivate new interests.

Partnered with Ming Pao and Yazhou Zhoukan, the HKTDC is once again organising the "Renowned Writers Seminar Series" with leading authors invited to share their creative insights. Among those speaking are Liu Zhen-yun, winner of the Mao Dun Literature Prize, documentary photographer Liu Heung-shing, Hong Kong historian Sun Sai-shing, Chinese literature scholar Xu Zi-dong, art curator Li Pi, internationally renowned art critic Johnson Chang and more.

The "English and International Reading Series" supported by Book Depository, an international online bookstore, will invite a number of famous English and foreign-language writers to tell their intriguing writing journeys and share tips on creating captivating stories with readers at a series of virtual and in-person seminars. They include British author Clare Mackintosh, who has sold more than two million copies of her books; Sunday Times Top 10 bestselling author Gillian McAllister; British author Simon Toyne, who presents a true crime TV series; and British-born Chinese author Maisie Chan, who won the Jhalak Children's & YA Prize 2022. Mio Debnam, an author of more than 25 children's books, and veteran China correspondent Mark O'Neill will speak at the fair in person. Also hosting seminars under other series will be food critic and bon vivant Chua Lam; former Director of the Hong Kong Observatory Sham Chi-ming; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chan Ka-leung; well-known screenwriter Chong Mui-ngam; and So Wa-wai, a retired athlete from Hong Kong who has won a number of Paralympic gold medals.

In addition, this year's fair will continue with the "Storytelling by Celebrities" events, inviting former Chinese champion diver Guo Jing-jing, Hong Kong bowling athlete Wu Siu-hong, Hong Kong Museum of Art Chief Curator Mok Ka-wing, Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Executive Director Andy Ho and veteran journalist Karen Cheng to share their inspirational stories with children.

Enhanced on-site hygiene measures ensure participants' safety

The safety of the public is a top priority for the HKTDC, and various measures will be implemented throughout the concurrent events to protect the health of participants. Following the HKSAR Government's COVID-19 protocols, all staff members, exhibitors and visitors will be required to wear masks in the venue and use the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app and show their COVID-19 vaccination record before entering the HKCEC. Except for designated food and beverage areas, no food, drinks or food tasting will be allowed inside the venue, including at the booths. Other safety measures include temperature-screening stations, the provision of hand sanitisers and disinfection items at multiple locations around the HKCEC, as well as enhanced cleaning and disinfection at the venue.

To ensure a more even flow of visitors throughout the day, the HKTDC will introduce morning admission tickets, night admission tickets as well as a special re-entry promotion. No physical ticket sales will be arranged at the fairground to avoid the use of cash and minimise contact. Visitors can pay with their Octopus cards at the entrance's toll booths to gain entry. More details of the ticketing arrangements can be found below.

Cultural July in hybrid mode

Alongside the Book Fair, the HKTDC is collaborating with numerous cultural and educational institutions, libraries, museums, shopping malls, cafes and bookstores to organise a series of cultural events in the 18 districts of Hong Kong running from 24 June to 31 July as part of the Cultural July citywide campaign. Activities include various seminars by renowned writers, family workshops, dramas and exhibitions, helping the general public deepen their knowledge and boost the city's reading culture.

In a nod to digitisation trends, the HKTDC will again set up a Cultural Journey Online webpage on the Book Fair website to provide resources for activities such as online reading and to offer e-reading resources, seminars and exhibitions.

SYDNEY, Jul 6, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – PuraPeel Aesthetics wins the 2022 Award for best aesthetics business.

The ReviewRumble annual awards recognize products and services that have been rated highly by the ReviewRumble community.

– Listed on the ReviewRumble website for consideration for an award
– In business for at least a year
– Minimum average rating of 4.1 stars online
– Ten or more approved reviews written and approved over the last five years

From this nomination list, the ReviewRumble team performs qualitative analyses and metric comparisons to calculate a 'sentiment score' to determine a category winner. Renowned stand-up comedian Vivek Mahbubani was the event's host, taking the opportunity to chat with entrepreneurs from some of the participating start-ups

Stephen Liang, HKTDC Assistant Executive Director, said: "As the pandemic situation gradually begins to ease, innovative business models and ideas will become a new stimulus for the economy in post-pandemic times. The enrolment for Start-up Express 2022 reflected the great enthusiasm of Hong Kong's entrepreneurs, with 20 shortlisted start-ups coming from a broader spectrum of fields than ever before, including arts tech, green tech, health tech, prop tech, fintech, smart city tech, edtech, food tech and others. Over the past four years, the programme has nurtured 40 start-ups and the HKTDC continues to pass on the spirit of entrepreneurship in Hong Kong, assisting local start-ups in growing their businesses to the next level. At the same time, we strive to create a sustainable and international entrepreneurial ecosystem."

Diverse opportunities offered to winning start-ups

Pitching Final contestants presented their innovative business ideas and responded to questions raised by a distinguished panel of judges as well as the online audience. This year's judging panel comprised Raymond Yung, Vice Chairman, AMTD Group; Jason Chiu, Chairman, Hong Kong Start-up Council; Andrew Young, Associate Director (Innovation), Sino Group; Ben Cheng, Managing Partner, C Ventures; and Arshad Chowdhury, Managing Partner, Betatron Venture Group. The 10 winning start-ups are: Allklear Health, Beth Bioinformatics, Calioo Technologies, Custonomy Company, EggLogics, Flow, Good Food Technologies, i2Cool, MixCare Health and PONS.ai (click here https://tinyurl.com/2p8kvfxs to download the list of winners and their company profiles). The HKTDC will arrange a series of exposure opportunities through which the winning teams can interact with buyers and investors.

Outstanding presentations at Pitching Final

AMTD Group was the exclusive Strategic Partner of Start-up Express for the fourth consecutive year. Calvin Choi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMTD Group and Founder of AMTD IDEA, shared his thoughts on the contest, saying that all the contestants presented extraordinary business ideas. "This is the fourth year that AMTD has supported HKTDC's Start-up Express as an exclusive Strategic Partner. The wide range of start-ups participating in this year's Pitching Final continue to innovate and develop in a more diverse and contemporary way. In particular, we saw more start-ups coming from art tech, food tech and other emerging areas this year, which shows that local start-ups are market-sensitive, quick to respond to the direction and dynamics of emerging industries, as well as reactive to rising trends and fads of the times," Mr Choi said.

Noting that local businesses across different sectors had been affected by the pandemic, he added: "It is encouraging to see Hong Kong start-ups remaining active despite the difficulties and on the lookout for opportunities under the new normal. Government policies and the social environment have been very supportive of start-ups, too. I am confident that if local start-ups can continue their efforts, stay flexible and be determined to find unique opportunities in the new normal, they can definitely stand out from their competitors in an ever-changing business environment and find a sustainable way forward."

The "SpiderNet Start-up Award", established to recognise the top performer selected by AMTD in the Pitching Final, was awarded to EggLogics. The award aims to provide the winner with an exclusive opportunity to access the resources and network of the AMTD SpiderNet ecosystem. The winner will benefit greatly in terms of its future business development and at the same time create synergies with other entrepreneurs within the ecosystem.

Jason Chiu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Start-up Council and a member of this year's judging panel, said: "It is my pleasure to be on the judging panel again this year. There is tremendous competition in this year's contest. All the start-up teams used their innovative mindsets to deliver exceptional pitches and shone through, highlighting the fact that local tech talents are extremely capable. I am confident that Start-up Express will serve as a springboard for the winning teams to access more opportunities. They can leverage this platform to expand their business network, explore markets in Mainland China especially the Greater Bay Area and overseas, and take their business to the next level."

Start-up Express boosts brand awareness and network expansion

Start-up Express provides start-ups with the chance to promote their business ideas and enhance their brand awareness while connecting with investors and industry leaders, as well as acquiring business know-how from industry experts. Calvin Cheng, founder and CEO of Wizpresso which was a winner in the 2021 Start-up Express, said: "With the assistance provided by the HKTDC, we gained a lot of exposure that helped greatly with our brand promotion. We also had the chance to participate in international trade fairs to connect with potential clients. These are the kind of valuable opportunities open to Start-up Express winners."

Logistics platform Zeek, another winning team at last year's Pitching Final, has successfully established a presence in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and other markets. KK Chiu, CEO of Zeek, said the company was able to grow its business connections by meeting with different businesses under the coordination of the HKTDC. Through HKTDC-organised local and overseas events, it also gained the opportunity to promote its brand to other local and international businesses.

Start-up Express International Edition launches in December

The HKTDC has always given its full support to Hong Kong's entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping to maintain the city's status as a competitive business centre and hub for innovation. In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Start-up Express, the first International Edition of the contest will be held this December as part of HKTDC Entrepreneur Day. Winning teams from Hong Kong will compete with outstanding start-ups from Mainland China, USA, the UK, Germany, Israel, Japan, Korea, Singapore and other countries and regions. Winners in the International Edition will be offered comprehensive assistance to enter the Hong Kong market and explore opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area via the Hong Kong platform.
