APOLLO FUTURE MOBILITY GROUP announces its urban delivery vehicle UME was awarded the “Best of Best” in the “Commercial” category in the Automotive Brand Contest 2021 in Germany

HONG KONG, Jun 30, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – Apollo Future Mobility Group Limited ("AFMG", the "Company", HKEx stock code: 860) announces today that its urban delivery vehicle – the UME, developed by its German team, was awarded the title of "Best of Best" in the "Commercial" category in the Automotive Brand Contest 2021 ("abc2021") organized by German Design Council.

Highlighting the appreciation of the abc2021 judging panel members to the UME design, the panel's official verdict reads: "UME's Urban Delivery Vehicle with its holistic sustainable concept approach is an attractive solution for electric last mile transport of goods. The idea of sending the vehicle as an assembly kit to local micro-factories is truly remarkable. The modular superstructures also allow for a variety of deployment scenarios. A well thought-out, coherent commercial vehicle concept that is also convincing in its form with its modern, friendly product language."

Unveiled for the first time at the Third China International Import Expo 2020 hosted in November 2020, the UME, meaning "Utility Meets Electric", is designed to be a cost and time effective tool to fulfill the last mile in the supply chain, constituting a green solutions package aiming at reducing carbon emissions of the transportation sector that is still prevalent in conventional fossil-fuel-powered light urban delivery trucks commonly used in developing countries. The UME is a L7e-CU vehicle (EU regulation) adapting a one-size-fits-all approach yet can be open to numerous use-cases depending on the customer's individual requirements. Delivering an approachable look with a minimalist design, the UME consists of symmetric parts, essentially reducing the number of parts required to increase manufacturing cost-effectiveness by allowing the same tooling for multiple uses. Key features of the UME include its Trolley Battery System that allows a Quick-Change-Charging scenario that keeps the vehicle on the road without any delivery downtime; modular cargo units that can be used as closed box or open pick-up to enable multiple usages ranging from courier to food delivery; and keyless access that is ideal for fleet and sharing usage. To achieve low-cost manufacturing, the UME can be shipped in knock-down kits that will be assembled in local micro factories in the target markets where it will also create job opportunities in the mobility industry.

As the leading mobility award, the Automotive Brand Contest awards uniquely honour forward-thinking and future-oriented designs: public and individual transport innovations, top performances in communication and groundbreaking technical developments – the expert jury distinguishes projects that are clearly in the fast lane in the world of mobility.

Mr. Ho King Fung, Eric, Chairman of Apollo Future Mobility Group Limited, comments, "With the UME our goal is to create a mobility tool for a shift towards green solutions. By creating an ecosystem around electric urban delivery vehicle that includes micro-factories and battery-swap stations, offering a high level of digitisation and connectivity, we not only present a vehicle, but a holistic approach for the future of urban commercial vehicles."

China Dynamics Vows to Actively Expand Promising Overseas Electric Vehicle Business

HONG KONG, Jun 30, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – China Dynamics (Holdings) Limited (the "Company", to be renamed as "EV Dynamics (Holdings) Limited"; Stock Code: 476, together with its subsidiaries, collectively "China Dynamics" or the "Group"), which provides new energy vehicles and technology integrated solutions, is committed to expanding business, stabilising the mainland market while increasing its overseas business penetration, in order to seize market opportunities and bring synergies to the Group. Thanks to increased vehicle sales and better economies of scale, the Group recorded revenue of approximately HK$23.8 million for the year ended 31 March 2021, up by 367% year-on-year,.

Going forward, the Group will continue to capture opportunities in the rapidly growing new energy vehicle market, capitalising on its technological advantages in the field to actively explore overseas markets, thereby driving overall revenue growth and building a sustainable business.

Actively expands the Hong Kong market
During the year under review, the Group completed the sales orders for two smart electric buses from the Hong Kong Productivity Council for trial run by the Airport Authority Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society. Talks on orders for two more new smart electric buses are underway. The Company will also start selling its fully electric 65-seat coaches in the Hong Kong market in the latter half of this year. Two of the coaches have already arrived in Hong Kong ready to sell. The Group is optimistic about the revival of tourism post pandemic, and the big demand for electric coaches that follows. Given that its electric coaches are currently the only approved model of their type in Hong Kong, the Group has an obvious edge in the market that needs the service of more than 7,000 coaches. In addition, the fully electric 19-seat low-floor minibus which the Company unveiled late last year will be ready for sale in the second half of this year. With its unique low-floor design and no match in the market for now, the electric minibus is expected to assume a sizeable share in the minibus market.

Outstanding achievements in overseas market expansion
The Group also completed the development of COMET, a customised city bus for emerging markets in Southeast Asia, with the first orders having been unveiled and delivered during the year under review. The Group expects many more orders in the near future. For the year under review, several sales orders from the Philippines were completed. Following the successful showcase in the Philippines, the Company has received sizable follow-up orders and expects to deliver around 100 units of COMET in the third and early fourth quarter of this year. The Group believes COMET is by far the most suitable and feasible model for replacing the Jeepney in the Philippines and is confident of penetrating and assuming dominance in the market.

For the South American market, on the B2B business front, the Group has developed a 12-metre "rolling platform" for bus manufacturers there who lack the technology to develop their own. The Group has already secured a sizable order for 12-metre e-platforms and another for 12-metre city bus from Latin America, which are set to contribute positive revenue to the Group when completed.

On 30 April 2021, the Company entered into an investment agreement to subscribe for 4.98% of Quantron AG. The Group believes the investment gives it a good opportunity to further expand its business in Europe. The Company has secured orders through Quantron AG in Europe for its 12-metre electric bus and 12-metre hydrogen bus, with delivery expected in the third and fourth quarter of this year respectively. The demand for electric buses and vehicles in Europe is strong and growing, thus the Company expects a steady stream of orders to come in after the said buses are delivered. The Group strongly believes it is looking at an imminent boom of overseas markets and very bright prospects for orders from Europe.

Seizes the huge opportunities in the Chinese mainland market
During the year, the Group's subsidiary Chongqing Suitong New Energy Automotive Manufacturing Co., Ltd. ("Suitong") completed the sales orders for its 8.5-metre buses from Wulong County, Chongqing. Although the massive electric vehicle market in the PRC remains highly competitive, the Group has confidence in its technical capabilities and advantages and in Suitong's commitment to seeking new sales orders and as such it will be able to tap the huge potential in the PRC market and reap rewarding returns from the market in the years to come.

Mr. Cheung Ngan, Chairman of China Dynamics, said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has complicated the business environment and posted challenges to the Group. However, we are confident of our business development strategy bearing fruit when different countries start to ease their lockdown measures and orders from overseas markets resume. The Group will closely monitor and prudently respond to market conditions, and continue to seize opportunities in the electric vehicle market, giving full play to our technological advantages in the new energy vehicle field. We will strive to expand our business overseas, plus enhance the Group's competitiveness so as to create long-term value for shareholders."

Motul 300V proves reliability by conquering double victory at FIM Endurance World Challenge 2021 season opener

Singapore, June 25, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – The 2021 edition of the FIM Endurance World Championship kicked off at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans with the inaugural 24 Heures Motos. After a long season break, 46 teams lined up at the starting grid, ready to get the latest installment of the championship underway. The newly restructured Suzuki team, Yoshimura SERT Motul, started from P2 on the grid after a competitive couple of qualifying sessions. Motul played a key role in ensuring continuous performance and durability out of their EWC bike at a race that requires extreme levels of robustness. The Franco-Japanese team had a near perfect weekend taking 64 out of the 65 available points and establishing a healthy 16-point lead in the championship battle.

Yoshimura SERT Motul team lifts the trophy

Like previous seasons, the #1 Suzuki GSX-R1000R was powered and lubricated by Motul 300V. Announcing the entry of the new team in dominating fashion, Yoshimura SERT Motul finished 8 laps clear of the rider in P2, taking a comfortable victory. The EWC bike was commandeered by riders Gregg Black, Xavier Simeon, Sylvain Guintoli and Kazuki Watanabe. It was a challenging race for the riders with some thrilling battles on the track, but their consistent pace and experience gave them a significant lead over the chasing pack.

Thrilling battles on track for the lead

Endurance races like this championship prove to be the ultimate testing ground for Motul products with changing conditions and extreme engine strain. Yoshimura SERT Motul Technical Coordinator, Quentin Menard, provided insights on the team’s choice of working with Motul.

Why does your team choose Motul 300V as your lubricant of choice?

“We have worked with MOTUL for many years and we trust them. With all these years, we saw how efficient Motul lubricants are! Motul 300V combines performance and longevity. We use Motul 300V because it is simply the best product we can find in the market.”

Endurance races present several challenging condition changes, how do Motul lubricants enhance performance and reliability of your bikes?

“With 24h Races, we face many different weather conditions. From hot temperature to hard rain, we know Motul Lubricants are 100% efficient. In fact, properties of Motul products (300V Engine Oil, Chain paste, etc.) aren’t modified even when we face hard changes in weather conditions.”

What is the best part about working with Motul to further improve the team’s performance throughout the FIM EWC season?

“Motul is a First-class partner for us, always attentive to our needs and developing regarding our request. At our workshop, we have all Motul’s products to prepare our Race bikes at our disposal. Since Motul guarantees us excellent quality products, we can prepare our bikes very carefully and without any stress because we know their products’ reliability.”

National Motos had an impressive showing at season opener

Furthermore, Motul-powered National Motos took an impressive victory in the Superstock class after starting in P7. The team quickly made up positions and was jostling for the top step of the podium right until the closing couple of hours in the race. With superior pace, the #55 Honda CBR1000RR came out on top and finished 2 laps ahead of the next best Superstock bike. It was an emphatic victory for the team and Honda, securing the best finish in the team’s history at 24H of Le Mans. Motul also supported the efforts of F.C.C. TSR Honda France, which finished P6 in the EWC class after a crash and untimely electrical problems saw them give up the podium places. However, the team demonstrated their true endurance spirit, fighting to make up for the lost time and gather some points towards the closing stages of the race.

It was a weekend to remember for Motul, with winning bikes in both categories being powered by their lubricants. The French oil manufacturer will be hoping to continue their impressive performance throughout the demanding endurance championship calendar. The FIM EWC moves to Portugal next, for the 12 Hours of Estoril in mid-July. Yoshimura SERT Motul currently sits at the top of the leaderboard with 64 points and F.C.C TSR Honda France is in 4th place after accumulating 36 points in the opening weekend. National Motos also occupies the top spot on the Superstock standings after scoring 60 points.

Class victory for Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand at Nurburgring 24hrs, powered by Motul

Thailand, June 10, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand battled severely adverse weather conditions to take an emphatic win at the ADAC Total 24 Hours of Nurburgring 2021. Motul’s top-line product 300V was the motor oil of choice for the team, powering the #119 and #120 Toyota Corolla Altis GR Sport’s to a well-deserved double podium in the SP 3 class on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Representing the iconic brand of Toyota Gazoo Racing in Thailand, the team is synonymous with high performance and major success in racing events across the globe. They also reiterated Toyota’s commitment “Push the Limit”, by defending their title and contributing to the rich motorsport legacy of the Japanese brand.

#120 Toyota Corolla Altis GT Sport takes the win in the SP3 class

The Thai team first took part in the 24-hour endurance event in 2014 and they quickly rose to the top of their class in a mere span of 6 years. Recognizing the performance enhancement and dependability that Motul products promise, they chose Motul as the lubricant partner since the very beginning of their Nurburgring journey. “For our engine, we use the lubrication by Motul,” said team director Suttipong Smittachartch. “We use the 300V oil in the 0W40 spec for both of our cars, and we have been using this for the many years that we have been racing here.”

Rain and fog presented extremely challenging conditions for racing

2020 was a strong testament to Motul’s prowess, which saw both cars finish 1-2 in their class and claim the team’s first win at the 48th edition of the Nurburgring classic. Going into 2021, Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand was full of confidence to repeat their success. The stage was set at the Green Hell with heavy downpour and fog, demanding intense concentration from the drivers and maximum preparation of the race cars to battle the extreme conditions. The all-Asian driver line-up rose to the challenge in dramatic fashion, tackling the elements head on to push the Motul-powered cars around the danger-filled 25.4km circuit.

Low visibility and torrential showers caused multiple crashes, forcing race officials to suspend the race after 6 hours. Following a 14-hour intermission, the longest in Nurburgring history, the #120 car restarted the race from P1 and maintained this advantage right to the chequered flag. With the #119 car rounding off the podium in P3, the Thai team achieved their goal in Germany, and solidified the win in the SP 3 class. It was also a triumph for Motul, displaying consistently superior performance by providing the oil needed for back to back victories.

This feat demonstrates that Motul lubricants work in perfect harmony with Toyota engines to extract maximum power whilst keeping the motor performing in pristine condition in tough race conditions. Being used in races around the world, Motul is committed to constantly improving the performance of its products. 2021 is a special year for Motul, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the 300V. Even after half a century, the product maintains its status as the leading synthetic lubricant as a result of the unique ESTER Core® technology.

In addition, team director Smittachartch was also awarded the “Ambassador of the Year” award. This award is presented to honour those individuals who enhance the prominence of the ADAC Total 24 Hours of Nurburgring event all over the world. The honour serves as a strong capstone to strengthen the reputation of the Motul-backed team from Asia.

DENSO and NTT DATA Complete Verification Test Using Vehicle and People Flow Data to Innovate the Mobility Experience

KARIYA and TOKYO, Jun 8, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – DENSO and NTT DATA today announced that they have completed a joint verification test to improve mobility experiences using data on vehicle and people flows.

In the test, which spanned June 2020 to March 2021, DENSO and NTT DATA gathered participants' "vehicle flow data," or their movements by car, through in-vehicle devices and -people flow data" through their smartphone GPS and beacon detection logs.(1) Together, these data offered insights on participants' driving characteristics and the types of driving scenarios they encountered.

The test was conducted to provide better mobility experiences and services, and to help businesses attract potential customers amid changing consumer behaviors. To do this, the test analyzed the participants' driving behaviors and their driving status and behavior, and then recommended stores they might be interested in using their vehicle flow data and people flow data. The test showed that the drivers' behavior were affected by recommendation based on those flow data analysis.

Based on the results, DENSO and NTT DATA will consider commercializing the joint service, and verify the business model together with mobility businesses (automakers, car-sharing companies, car rental companies, etc.) and service providers (retailers, tour agents, commercial complexes, etc.).

Background

When going out, many people not only want to enjoy activities at their destination such as shopping, they also want to enjoy the trip and experiences along the way. If, for example, they want to reserve a restaurant, however, first they have to search the Internet for necessary information, and make a reservation through dedicated apps, which makes the experience inconsistent. As technologies such as connected vehicles, next-generation cockpits and automated driving evolve, the amount of information people can access from their cars will increase. Providing a seamless mobile experience for people both inside and outside of the ehicle may provide consumers with value and improve their trips.

DENSO is planning and developing next-generation cockpit platforms and connected vehicle system platforms, to build a new mobility society that connects vehicles, people, and things.

Since June 2020, in collaboration with unerry Inc., which operates the "Real Behavior Data Platform," NTT DATA has been developing "Mobility Commerce Service(2)," which provides users with a new travel experience to enjoy trips en route to their destination. The verification test used unerry's people flow data(3) and algorithms, which are part of the above service.

DENSO and NTT DATA found advantages in working together to provide services that connect people's trips using mobility systems and their destinations. The two companies therefore conducted a verification test to innovate the mobility experience based on vehicle and people flow data.

Concept of the service

It understands preference for how people move based on data gathered from in-vehicle devices and their smartphones, and analyzes the characteristics of their driving and movement, in order to provide timely and personalized content and recommendations to improve travel experiences and deliver better services when traveling with or without a car. The service is also intended to offer new values to service providers, such as helping them attract potential customers amid changing behaviors.

(1) This verification test is being conducted with the consent from the monitors to obtain and use their personal information for the purpose of this verification test.
(2) News release issued on June 18, 2020. "NTT DATA and unerry Forms Capital and Business Alliance to Provide "New Travel Experience"

(3) Uses unerry's Beacon Bank, the offline behavior data platform. (unerry has formed a capital and business alliance with NTT DATA)

Motul powers Asian team Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand at 49th edition of the Nurburgring 24hrs

Thailand, June 4, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – Racing returns to one of the most notorious tracks in motorsport this weekend, as 125 touring cars from various classes look to battle it out around the arduous 25km track for the 49th edition of the ADAC 24 Hours of Nurburgring. Aptly nicknamed The Green Hell, the perilous Nurburgring track situated among the Eifel mountains in western Germany has hosted the 24-hour endurance classic since 1970. Asian racing fans will have a home-grown team from Thailand to cheer for, as the Motul-supported Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand gears up to enter their two Toyota Corolla Altis GT N24 cars in the historic race. The team is looking to build upon their success from 2020, where they managed to place 1st and 2nd in the SP3 class. Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand will once again be entering the #119 and #120 Toyota cars in the SP3 class. SP3 cars are classified by those with engine displacement up to 2000cc.

#119 and #120 Toyota Corolla Altis GT N24 competing in SP3 class

The #119 car line-up includes team director Suttipong Smittachartch with team mates Nattavude Charoensukhawatana, Nattapong Harthongkum and Manat Kulapalanont. At the same time Grant Supaphongs, Chen Jian Hong and Naoki Kawamura will take control of the #120 car. The all-Asian seven driver line-up will compete for the coveted Nurburgring trophy around the snaking and undulating circuit, which has proven to be a true test for man and machine. The track sets the stage for display of supreme driver ability as they get their heads down to battle the adverse conditions and bring the car home.

Team looking to repeat 2020 championship success

The team is going into the weekend with high expectations from fans to defend their champion status. After entering the competition for their first race in 2014, they are the first and only Thai team to compete in the world renowned 24-hour race. Having quickly risen to the top of the class, Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand has greatly contributed to put Thailand on the international motorsports map. The resilience, grit and determination shown by the team has helped them to overcome numerous challenges and prove themselves to be the best in their category.

The ADAC TOTAL 24-hour Nurburgring race is infamous for its dramatic elevation changes, bumpy tarmac and unpredictable weather, making it extremely challenging for the cars to perform on the limit for an extended period of time. With the engine working overtime to cover nearly 4,000km over 150+ laps without breaks, the team uses the flagship Motul 300V motor oil to ensure high performance. Furthermore, to lubricate over 100 gear changes each lap, the Gear Competition lubricant is used to keep the gearbox functioning throughout the 15,000 transmission changes over the length of the race. The triumph in the 48th instalment of the race was a strong testament to the reliability and utility of Motul products both on and off the track, as they look to reiterate that once again in this year’s 24-hour endurance.

Additionally, Motul products will be used by the Frikadelli Racing Team for their #30 and #31 Porsche 911 GT3 R cars in the SP 9 class, with a full eight-driver Porsche factory roster. Motul is also the motor oil of choice for Glickenhaus Racing LLC, who will be competing in the SP-X class with their #704 SCG 004C, which looks primed to outperform its top-15 debut in 2020. Several other teams on the grid have already adopted Motul products to keep their cars functioning at the optimum level.
