Gentle Bones said, "It's been a great journey since I started my 'Gentle Bones' YouTube channel for acoustic covers back in 2010, and I couldn't have asked for more in my last ever concert in Singapore. The concert was also attended by Guest of Honour Minister for Culture Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong SC, who noted ONERHT Foundation's efforts to play a part in supporting an inclusive Singapore.

He said, "The Foundation has done good work over the years, to establish, inspire and encourage a philanthropic culture of giving back to the community among the corporate and legal fraternity. With the strong support of the Foundation's donors and sponsors, our Patron and Board of Directors, as well as management, lawyers and staff from across ONERHT, I will continue to advance the Foundation's initiatives and programmes across its four core pillars of education, the environment and sustainability, disadvantaged groups, as well as the arts and sports," she added.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mr Tan Chong Huat for his mentorship, guidance and encouragement during his tenure as Chairman of the Foundation," said Ms Kwok.

During the handover ceremony (with Minister Edwin Tong as witness), Mr. Tan had handed over a symbolic Chinese scroll to Ms. Kwok, which read:

English translation: Chong Huat and Kaylee have led the Foundation well, and, Kaylee, who succeeds him shall build on it and bring it to another level of success and splendour.

Proceeds from the charity concert will help support the well-being of those hit hardest by the pandemic, such as underprivileged families, seniors, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.

Funds raised through the charity concert will be used to support the FUN! Fund for Seniors (an Agency for Integrated Care initiative), PCF Sparkle Care Centres, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore), Dementia Singapore Ltd, Life Community Services Society, TOUCH Community Services Limited, CaringSG Limited and It All Starts Hear.sg.

With him are (R-L) Mr. Hii, YB Sebastian, Sharzede, YB Dennis and others.

Themed "Jazz in The Jungle", the Borneo Jazz festival will be held from 24 to 26 June 2022 in a hybrid format to reach out to the greater jazz-loving community worldwide. The physical concert will take place at Coco Cabana, Miri while viewers will also be able to livestream one-hour blocks of their performances from home.

With musical content curated by No Black Tie Presents, Malaysia's foremost jazz promoter, music lovers can expect a spectacular mix of jazz and hip-hop, tribal vibes, world beats and electro-jazz grooves during the 17th edition of the Borneo Jazz festival.

Watch out for an eclectic mix of jazz musicians, rappers and DJs from USA, Hungary, Singapore, France, Malaysia and more lighting up the Borneo Jazz stage to celebrate cultural diversity, tradition and innovation.

Sarawak Arts Council's band Sarawak Symphony Orchestra (SONS) will also be taking to the Borneo Jazz stage for the first time in a continued collaboration with Sarawak Tourism Board, with the aim to lift Sarawak's local music scene.

The announcement on the highly anticipated annual event was made today by Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts along with Yang Berhormat Datuk Sebastian Ting Chew Yew, Deputy Minister of Tourism Sarawak, Yang Berhormat Mr. Dennis Ngau, Chairman of Sarawak Tourism Board, Mr. Hii Chang Kee, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Puan Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor, Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Tourism Board, Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar, Chief Operating Officer of MASwings representing Malaysia Aviation Group and Stephanie Kuan representing artistic director No Black Tie Presents.

As we all know, artistes and musicians have all been affected by the lockdowns, so Borneo Jazz festival serves as the perfect platform to rejuvenate, rediscover, rekindle and rebuild the jazz connection that was interrupted for the past two years."

"The hybrid concert is the best way to go this year based on the positive response we have received from the Borneo Jazz Virtual Experience last year in 2021. For the record, the Borneo Jazz Virtual Experience 2021 three-day journey garnered 244,637 online viewers from 43 countries. This year, we hope to have a wider outreach to international audiences encompassing more countries."

"Last year, the music festival reached a broader audience given the virtual format, and we hope to continue this traction once again this year. Our goal is to provide our Sarawakian artists with an even bigger platform for their artistry to be recognised around the world."

Chief Operating Officer of MASwings, Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar said, "We are delighted to support and celebrate the world's culture through music by transporting travellers from all over the globe to Borneo Jazz festival this year. Travellers will be able to experience Malaysia's proud history of its warm hospitality the moment they step onboard through our service and offerings that embody Malaysia's incredible facility, capturing its rich traditions, culture and cuisines throughout their journey with us."

The announcement was followed by the unveiling of Sarawak Tourism's 'More to Discover' livery on three (3) MASwings ATR 72-500 aircraft as part of the one-year collaboration with the Sarawak Tourism Board. Being the Pulse of Borneo, MASwings serves a specialised market, meeting tourists' travel needs in terms of connectivity and affordable transportation. With the launch of Sarawak Tourism's 'More to Discover' campaign on our turboprops, we trust that it will certainly help fulfil the government's agenda to stimulate growth in tourist visits through tourism."

Building up a sustainable musical tourism in Sarawak

"Our focus apart from positioning Borneo Jazz as a top-notch Jazz Festival in the region, is to empower and raise cultural awareness through Borneo Jazz Talent Search and Borneo Jazz FAB LAB platform, providing performance and networking opportunities, giving awards and recognition, as we strongly believe in promoting sustainability in the growth of arts & culture within the local community, and the importance of cultural exchange in fostering greater understanding between people of different cultural backgrounds which aligns with the STB's and the state's sustainable journey," said Evelyn Hii, Artistic Director of Borneo Jazz festival 2022.

Borneo Jazz will feature performances by the winners of the nationwide Borneo Jazz Talent Search launched on April 1 for DJ, Jazz and Open categories. Women of Venusverse “Genesis” Collection with NFT Validation by UREEQA now available on Opensea

ONTARIO, CA, Apr 20, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – Venusverse, an organization designed to give women insight into the world of Web3, announces the launch of a ground-breaking new NFT collection that will be protected by UREEQA, a leading digital validation company that helps creators protect, manage and monetize creative work.

The Women of Venusverse "Genesis" Collection of 2,022 NFTs is a one-of-a-kind art collection with membership access to the Venusverse community.

Ten percent of revenue from the collection will be donated to the CivicAction Leadership Foundation in support of women in that organization's leadership programs, including the DiverseCity Fellows and the Emerging Leaders Network.

The "Genesis" Collection launched on April 19 on the Opensea.io marketplace.

"2,022" is somewhat of a representation of the number six (2+2+2), which is said to be the number of unconditional love and selflessness. Venus (named after the Roman Goddess of love and beauty) is the sixth planet in the solar system in terms of size and mass. And the 0 comes in because the stars aligned considering Venusverse launched as a company in 2022.

According to Venusverse CEO and co-founder, Janelle Chalouhi, the beautiful, eclectic and diverse 2,022 art pieces "represent women from across the world, bringing us all together under one collection."

Chalouhi described to Ontario-based digital artist and designer Fatima Gharaibeh her vision behind representing diversity among women from across the world as well as the properties and layers she wanted to include in the collection and Gharaibeh brought the vision to life in a beautiful way. That is how the first 114 NFTs were first created, 104 of which are animated. The properties were then used to generate the remaining 1,908 NFTs through generative art.

"To me this was a nod to the new digital era we have entered into, where we use tech to enhance the work we do and hopefully to do good," Chalouhi said.

Collectors who buy into the Genesis Collection of 2,022 NFTs will gain membership access to the Venusverse community, and they'll also be granted peace of mind thanks to UREEQA.

THEMUSEUM's CEO, David Marskell, introduced the two startups and asked both CEOs to serve on a recent panel with Museums Canada. It's only fitting that THEMUSEUM will be hosting the Women of Venusverse launch event in May at their Voodoo Lounge followed by an exhibit.

The next step for Venusverse was to protect the collection, and that's where UREEQA came in. The entire collection will be validated by UREEQA's Responsible Minting(TM) technology, with the platform's Package of Proof(TM) giving buyers the critical assurance that what they're purchasing is the real deal.

"Since I decided to go this route, I knew that the provenance and the authenticity of the collection was so important, especially given the amount of scams that are happening right now," Chalouhi said. "I needed the collection to essentially have a digital signature, which is why we've partnered with UREEQA to validate and authenticate the art, and to make the collection even more exclusive."

"Not only is this UREEQA's first opportunity to validate an entire NFT collection, but it also represents a chance for us to team up with a platform that shares similar values," UREEQA CEO Kirk Fergusson said. "Both UREEQA and Venusverse are focused on launching and supporting art that is honest and authentic, and the best way to provide that assurance to a buyer is by having the work validated. We are thrilled to provide that for the 2,022 collection."

A global network of validators will use UREEQA's platform and technology to analyze the authenticity of the full collection. At the end of the validation process, a Package of Proof will be generated which documents all the steps taken by UREEQA and its validation team to verify the authenticity of the work. The key information is made available on a provenance page, which is contained in the Venusverse website, providing an easy-to-use resource for prospective NFT buyers to verify the authenticity of a creation of interest.

And because key information about the creative work's authenticity is stored in a record on the blockchain, drop-day purchasers and those who buy the validated work on resale can be assured that they're getting the legit product, no matter when or where they're jumping in.

Rainforest World Music Festival Returns in June 2022

KUCHING, MALAYSIA, Apr 20, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – The most awaited music festival in Malaysia, the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), is back once again, celebrating its 25th anniversary as a hybrid event for the first time since the beginning of the music festival in 1998.

This year, the music festival themed "Legendary Rainforest Celebration" being held from 17-19 June 2022 will take on a hybrid format, with the physical concert taking place at Sarawak Cultural Village while viewers can also livestream it from their homes via rwmf.net.

With the objective of bringing the world back together with music, RWMF will be welcoming back a host of international performers from Canada, India, USA, Finland, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, China, Bhutan and Seoul among others, with Majlis Seni Sarawak mixing traditional Sarawakian music with international flavours opening the three-day show in a first-time musical collaboration with Sarawak Tourism Board.

The Rainforest World Music Festival 2022 will also feature the sounds and rhythms of Sarawak, showcasing musical elements from the diverse ethnic groups of Sarawak through exhilarating performances that will elevate Sarawak's unique tribal flavours on to an international pedestal.

The announcement of Sarawak's highly anticipated and iconic event was made by Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, along with Puan Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor, Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Tourism Board and Capt Nasaruddin A. Bakar, Chief Operating Officer of MASWings representing the Malaysia Aviation Group.

During his speech, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts said: "I'm very proud of how far our homegrown product has come. From around 100 spectators for its first-ever concert back in 1998, to becoming the first hybrid festival of its kind in Malaysia. Concertgoers who miss the feel of the physical concert can come together in mutual appreciation of world music, and those around the world can enjoy world music live from the comfort of their own homes."

Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Tourism Board, Puan Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor said, "Every year we strive to make Rainforest World Music Festival better than the year before. Last year's Virtual Experience gave us invaluable feedback on how we could work towards combining the best of both worlds – physical and the digital – to create RWMF's first hybrid edition this year. We hope that creating this unique precedent for the 25th edition of the festival will become a keystone for the next 25 years for the festival, bridging the past with the future and sustaining and reinventing our musical heritage and its traditions for many years to come."

It was also announced that there will be an Early Bird ticket sale starting 18th April 2022 for both the physical and virtual concerts. Those interested can go to rwmf.net to grab tickets in the different categories – Adult 1-Day Pass (RM 150), Adult 3-Day Pass (RM375), Child 1-Day Pass (RM80), Child 3-Day Pass (RM155) and 1-Day Family Package Pass- 2 Adult and 2 Children (400).

NEW YORK, NY, Aug 26, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – Tickets for Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror, the most ambitious retrospective to date of the work of Jasper Johns, are now available for advance purchase at whitney.org and philamuseum.org. Co-organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror is a single exhibition in two venues, filling almost 30,000 combined square feet.

This unprecedented collaboration is the artist's first major museum retrospective on the East Coast in nearly a quarter-century and will feature more than 500 works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints. About Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror

Over the past sixty-five years, Jasper Johns (b. 1930) has produced a radical and varied body of work marked by constant reinvention. In an unprecedented collaboration, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Whitney will stage a retrospective of Johns's career simultaneously across the two museums from September 29, 2021 to February 13, 2022. Featuring paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints, many shown publicly for the first time, Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror is inspired by the artist's long-standing fascination with mirroring and doubles. The two halves of the exhibition will act as reflections of one another, spotlighting themes, methods, and images that echo across the two venues. A visit to one museum or the other will provide a vivid chronological survey; a visit to both will offer an innovative and immersive exploration of the many phases, facets, and masterworks of Johns's still-evolving career.

This exhibition is co-organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The organizing curators are Carlos Basualdo, Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Scott Rothkopf, Senior Deputy Director and Nancy and Steve Crown Family Chief Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, with Sarah B. World-Renowned Photographer Christina Jansen to Release First Muhammad Ali Digital Collectibles with dMerch.io

Washington, D.C., Aug 5, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – The Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) is partnering with world-renowned photographer Christina Jansen and Dublin-based NFT agency, dMerch.io to bring to life the Muhammad Ali Series 1 digital collection. The collection contains 136 unique digital collectables, all showcasing the vibrant personality of Ali himself and will be available on WAX blockchain starting on August 10, 2021 at 1pm EST / 10 am PST.

Christina Jansen

Throughout his iconic 21-year professional career, Ali was unconventional and incredible for the world to watch. He was an Olympic gold medalist, accumulated 56 victories, and was the first boxer in history to claim the heavyweight championship belt three times.

In 1986, Jansen and Ali met for the first time at a commercial shoot at Fulham Studios. Instantaneously, the duo connected, and Jansen admired Ali's humble nature. Since her encounter with Ali, Jansen has gone on to photograph celebrities, athletes, and fashion icons.

"Photographing Muhammad Ali was one of the most inspiring jobs I have ever had. Over a period of two weeks on and off the set I witnessed how he treated everyone who approached him the same. It didn't matter to Ali where you came from or what you did. I felt so blessed to have the chance to talk to him and get to know this great man like a close friend. Ali told me his Philosophy in life – If you reach for the moon you might end up next door, but if you reach for the stars you will get to the moon. He encouraged me and others to reach for their goals and not be afraid to take risks in life," said Jansen.

Adam Bouktila, COO for dMerch, praised Christina's photographs which have not been seen by a wider audience:

"This collection is amazing for the close connection between Ali and his photographer. These are not paparazzi shots taken at random. These are beautifully crafted images taken over a two-week period where subject and artist forged a close and powerful connection. The connection makes the images come alive.

"And with NFT technology we can now share these images with the world. As a Mohammed Ali fan this is a huge privilege for me to be involved in this project."

Since his passing in 2016, Ali's life and love for mentoring others will be revealed through Jansen's intimate, never-before-seen photographs for fans to collect and enjoy as digital collectibles on the WAX Blockchain. In her very first WAX collection, Jansen will offer the proceeds of an extremely special "Boxing Futures" pack featuring a single, ultra-rare Muhamad Ali digital photograph to aid Boxing Futures, an organization that aims to help disadvantaged youth by providing a safe space for them to improve their physical and mental health through boxing all while learning to build relationships and find motivation.

"This collection is both a personal and professional triumph that allows us to give back to a deserving group and pay homage to Muhammad Ali's legacy," says Jansen.

The intimate photos of the boxing superstar will be available in six (6) ring-worthy rarities, including:
– Classic
– Negative
– Gallery
– Photographer
– Championship
– Behind the scenes

As a special thank you for their support of the collection, Championship card buyers will be automatically entered into a randomized drawing for a chance to claim one (1) of (3) unique physical prints.

The Muhammad Ali Series 1 digital collection will feature 5,000 Classic Packs, 3,000 Photographer Packs, and 1,000 Boxing Futures Packs and are available in the following sizes:
– Classic Packs containing 5 digital collectibles for $19.99
– Photographer Packs containing 25 digital collectibles for $49.99
– Boxing Futures containing 1 digital collectible for $9.99

There will be a "stress test" prior to the official launch day on August 9 at 1pm EST / 10 am PST. Fans can sign-up through the official WAX Discord and will receive a free promo-pack as a "thank you" for participating.

'Contemplating Life' by Kylo Hemmingway

Wait, it gets better. The 5 winners, one for each category listed below, will be recognized from the stage of the US Capitol. Winners need not be present to win, however, being awarded a trophy from the stage of the US Capitol is an experience like no other.

Unfortunately, there is one major deterrent to artists submitting their work.

It's blockchain.

As I mentioned, there will be 5 winners from 5 categories. They are:
1) Creativity/Originality. How innovative is this idea?
2) Practicality. Could this idea work?
3) Helpful/ Humanity. Does this idea help anyone?
4) Involvement. Is the artist involved in the deployment of this project?
5) Visual appeal. How pleasing is the image to behold?
These 5 categories must all relate to a blockchain connection.
So, how can blockchain translate into an image?

Here are some suggestions:
– Land Titling: Many poor farmers and landowners in 3rd world countries do not have secure titles to their land, even after generations. Blockchain records could secure their claims.
– Fair Trade: Irreputable practices govern coffee, chocolate, and rice harvesting. Blockchain records can track the supply chain, eliminating deception.
– Cannabis: Many states rely on cryptocurrency for their dispensaries since the US dollar cannot be used for cannabis.
– Others: Healthcare. Artificial Intelligence. Banking. Aviation, Cybersecurity, Education, and more. For a list of Blockchain applications, check out GBA Working Group List (https://www.gbaglobal.org/working-groups/).

Submissions open until August 15. Don't hesitate. Submit your work today.
