The 12th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference Opens

HONG KONG, Nov 22, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – The 12th edition of the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in person and online. This year's ALMAC is expected to attract over 14,000 viewers from over 50 countries and regions. At this annual signature event for the maritime, air freight, logistics and supply chain management sectors and shippers from different industries, more than 90 industry experts and leaders will share their insights at close to 30 sessions.

Dr Peter Lam, HKTDC Chairman, said the disruption and delays caused by the pandemic in the past three years have highlighted an urgent need to assess how we can manage supply chains differently, so they are better equipped to withstand future challenges.

The opening session was officiated by Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR.

The 12th edition of the Asia Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference, jointly organised by HKTDC and Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in a hybrid format.

Dr Peter K N Lam, Chairman of the HKTDC welcomed international delegates to the conference, saying: "In the past year, economies have confronted a myriad of challenges, not least the pandemic, war, inflation and rising energy prices. No country or region, including Hong Kong, is immune to these developments. This attests to how connected our world is today. We may live on opposite sides of the world from each other, but the phenomenon of globalisation has, particularly over the last few decades, intertwined our fates ever closer. The logistics, maritime and aviation industries are a principal driver and guardian of our interconnectedness. In today's increasingly globalised world, they flourish most in an environment of stability. The resilience and sustainability of global supply chains guarantee their continued growth. The disruption and delays caused by the pandemic in the past three years have highlighted an urgent need to assess how we can manage supply chains differently, so they are better equipped to withstand future challenges."

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR, officiated at the online opening, saying: "There is clear and compelling direction in the National 14th Five-Year Plan and the development plan for the Greater Bay Area. Together, they confirm Hong Kong's future as both an international shipping centre and a premier international aviation hub. To achieve those goals, Hong Kong will continue to integrate into our country's overall economic development. We will fully embrace the boundless opportunities they present us, in logistics – and a great deal more. There is, strategic direction, too, in this year's theme: 'The Future of the Sustainable Supply Chain: Connectivity, Collaboration, Innovation.' It hammers home what we need to realise the future we want."

International speakers analyse the latest trends in the global logistics, shipping and air freight industries

In the keynote address this morning, Xiangchen Zhang, Deputy-Director General of the World Trade Organization, examined how governments and businesses in the international arena may join forces to mitigate the impact of supply chain disruption.

"Challenges and opportunities are the two sides of the same coin. To address common challenges in global supply chains, we will rely on connectivity, collaboration and innovation," said Zhang.

This was followed by the Plenary Session featuring global business leaders, including Mathieu Renard Biron, Managing Director of Global Freight Forwarding of Kerry Logistics, Ludovic Renou, CEO of CMA CGM China and Wilkie Wong, Chief Financial Officer of Esquel Group, who discussed how business evolution and supply chain transformation can steer business growth and achieve sustainable development amidst the current economic climate by building connectivity, fostering collaboration and driving innovation.

Mathieu Renard Biron said: "Given all the disruptions of supply chain in the past two years, more opportunities will be coming from Asia while leading to the change of people's expectations and experiences." He added that collaborations and partnerships are needed to foster innovation. The use of AI machine learning technology, for example, is part of our new normal.

The World Halal Summit, taking place this year from November 24-27, 2022, is the largest halal conference in the world – the last World Halal Summit attracted over 31 thousand attendees from 96 different nations. The conference is held annually in Istanbul, Turkey, and is focused on contemporary challenges and opportunities in the halal industry. This year's primary theme is "For a Sustainable Trade: Explore All the Aspects of the Halal Industry". Topics that will be covered at the summit's many keynote addresses and panel discussions include current trends in the halal sector and new directions in the halal market.

"We have always been big supporters of halal expos around the world, and are proud to be Official Partner of the World Halal Summit this year," said MRHB DeFi CEO and founder Naquib Mohammed. "There has been tremendous interest in crypto and digital assets by Muslim communities in recent years. MRHB is the world's first Web3 platform offering decentralized financial services that are truly halal from the ground up and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to share these solutions with the community of the World Halal Summit."

Notable speakers at this year's World Halal Summit include the Head of the Turkish government's Department of Participation Finance, the Acting Department Head of the Turkish Halal Accreditation Agency, and the Director of the Turkish government's Department of Participation Finance. As the exclusive Web3 partner of World Halal Summit, MRHB (pronounced 'Marhaba') is the sole producer of NFT tickets to the event. The NFT tickets are more than just collectible pictures – they provide real utility as verifiable proof that the conference-goers have purchased tickets to the World Halal Summit.

MRHB is minting NFT tickets which are soulbound tokens – non-transferrable NFTs that cannot be sold or traded with other people. Originally conceived by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, soulbound tokens act as identity and reputation tokens in a decentralized society.

USD10K worth of Gold tokens to be won on TijarX Gold Rush

To celebrate their newly launched commodities exchange TijarX, MRHB DeFi is also awarding a total of US$10 thousand in Gold Standard ($AUS) halal tokenized gold to lucky winners of their 'Gold Rush' Campaign. The gold tokens are backed by the physical gold bars held in the vaults of MRHB's regulated (since 1974) bullion partner – Ainslee Bullion.

TijarX can be accessed on Sahal Wallet, a multi-chain, multi-asset self-custodial halal crypto wallet available on iOS and Android. Prizes will be distributed in AUS as follows:

– $5K prize to the highest AUS net buyer

"The cryptocurrency space is a risky place with limited or no halal crypto asset options," Naquib said. "I founded MRHB DeFi to be a one-stop-solution for users searching for more ethical and non-interest-based approaches to DeFi solutions. I am confident our TijarX Gold Rush campaign will attract summit attendees who are looking for an easy way to invest in physical gold, silver and crypto assets via their phone."

Sahal Wallet acts as a super App for all of MRHB DeFi's halal finance services, including the SouqNFT marketplace – where World Halal Summit NFTs are minted and halal compliance NFT certificates are also hosted – as well as the TijarX commodities exchange, home to tokenized precious metals by Gold and Silver Standard. Every token and product on the platform undergoes a strict halal vetting procedure to ensure all assets are Shariah compliant. The world's first halal crypto income and staking solution will both launch in the next few months, with four more launches scheduled for 2023 including interest-free financing, decentralized philanthropy (DePhi), an entrepreneur launchpad and decentralized autonomous governance.

Ni Hsin Group Unveils Two TAILG EBIXON EV Motorcycle Models

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Main Market-listed Ni Hsin Group Berhad (formerly known as Ni Hsin Resources Berhad (Bursa: NIHSIN, 7215)), today unveiled two models of the TAILG EBIXON EV Motorcycles.

Managing Director of NH EV TECH, Khoo Chee Kong

Mr. Chee Kok Hee, Secretary General of Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association; Mr. Lee Kun Feng, Vice President of Dongguan Tailing Motor Vehicle Co., Ltd; Yang Berbaqhagia Dato' Zailani Hj Hashim, Director General of Road Transport Department; Yang Berbahagia Dato' Seri Rosman Mohamed, Chairman of Ni Hsin Ev Tech Sdn. Bhd.; and Mr. Khoo Chee Kong, Managing Director of Ni Hsin Ev Tech Sdn. Bhd. [L-R]

The models, the TAILG EBIXON BOLD and TAILG EBIXON TORQ, in the personal and commercial use categories, respectively, are assembled at the Group's manufacturing facilities in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Khoo Chee Kong, Managing Director of NH EV TECH, said, "After more than two years of hard work, from the conceptualisation, R&D, experimentation, trial and error, and close collaboration with our formidable partner, Dongguan Tailing Motor Vehicle Co., Ltd, we finally achieved the milestone with the launching of our TAILG EBIXON EV Motorcycles – the Game Changer for Ni Hsin Group."

The Group started selling coffee from motorcycles in line with BLACKBIXON's concept of cafe@home cafe@office cafe@anywhere where the BLACKBIXON Coffee Bike can quickly deliver coffee ordered through e-commerce platforms.

Khoo explained, "The first motorcycle we experimented with was an internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle which was not efficient as it was burdensome and costly, and we wanted a vehicle that is environmentally friendly. After a series of trials and experiences, an electrical motorcycle that was clean and has zero tailpipe emission was successfully developed, as our BLACKBIXON Coffee Bike last year."

"We soon realised that there is a market for this purpose-built machine. The COVID-19 pandemic brought about a spike in e-commerce and hence the demand for delivery services. Motorcycles are a popular choice for its quicker delivery time and low maintenance. In light of global warming, EV motorcycles make perfect sense as they are energy efficient and cheaper to maintain."

"There are lots of opportunities for the use of EVs, with the government providing incentives in the form of tax reliefs for the assembly or manufacturing of EVs, component parts, and the development of EV ecosystems such as charging facilities. The government as well as government-linked companies (GLCs) are also expected to adopt the use of EVs. Also, the global electric scooter and motorcycle market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 10.2% to US$93.9 billion by 2031 from US$35.3 billion in 2021."

"Our target is to sell 15,000 units of TAILG EBIXON EV Motorcycles a year over the next three years covering the Asia Pacific region. We are deep in negotiations with several organisations, GLCs, government agencies and dealers to promote, market and distribute our EV motorcycles in the region. Our business model includes outright sale and rent-to-own modules to businesses as well as consumers."

The Group's venture into the manufacture and assembly of EV motorcycles underscores its commitment to social and environmental responsibilities while creating a green revenue stream in carbon trading, in which emissions are treated as either carbon credits or offsets that can be sold in a carbon market such as Bursa Securities Malaysia Berhad's voluntary carbon market (Bursa VCM), to be opened by the end of 2022.

Ni Hsin's EV motorcycle business generates carbon offsets that can be sold to other companies to reduce their carbon footprint. The Bursa VCM will, besides providing transparency in the carbon credit market, boost investments in high-quality offsetting projects such as planting trees or shifting to cleaner fuels.

In conjunction with the unveiling of the two TAILG EBIXON EV Motorcycle models, Ni Hsin will also sign Memorandum of Agreements with several esteemed and well-connected organisations, including MIMOS Berhad, Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (PROLINTAS), HAI-O Enterprise Bhd and PT Winn Pratama Indonesia to assist in the marketing, promotion and distribution of these EV motorcycles.

The challenge most brands are facing, however, is not knowing which platforms are best suited for their brands and managing large-scale operations, eventually taking their focus from business growth.

Ando, a popular brand of sandals and casual shoes for men, women, and children established in the '90s in Indonesia, had built a reputation over the years for stylish, quality, and affordable products to become a local favorite, was on the lookout for a reliable, experienced e-commerce partner.

A Trusted and Reliable Partner

With the aim of scaling its business through ecommerce, Ando partnered with aCommerce Indonesia to create its online stores in major marketplaces: Shopee, Lazada, Tokopedia, Tiktok, and direct-to-consumer.

"We were looking for a reliable and trusted partner. aCommerce, with its current extensive regional experience and reputation, was able to show us a clear path to scalability," said Sherly Yulianita, ANDO's Online Sales Head.

With this partnership, aCommerce is now responsible for a wide range of ecommerce services to get Ando to achieve its goals. One innovative initiative of the service is producing and broadcasting live-streaming videos for Ando on Shopee.

"It's our pleasure to work with great partners such as ANDO. We are collaborating tightly on various tasks such as marketplace management, fulfillment, customer services, and warehousing, and it's been a pleasure to see the results, partnership, and level of sync" said Antonius Adang, Chief Executive Officer of aCommerce Indonesia.

Expanding Ando's Playing Field

As a groundbreaking ecommerce marketing tool, live streaming has gained popularity in recent years due to its more engaging and authentic format, done in real-time. Combining video technology, entertainment, and retail, live streaming enables brands to communicate and connect with target audiences at a deeper level while monetizing live content.

As the largest end-to-end ecommerce enabler in Southeast Asia, aCommerce offers professional broadcasting and live streaming services from our studios at aCommerce HQ. From formulating the right strategy for your brand to creating a detailed communication plan, sourcing influencers and hosts for the broadcast, or using our in-house broadcasters, our aTeam offers the full spectrum of services to connect businesses with 370 million internet users in Southeast Asia.

"aCommerce helps us to focus on designing and developing our products, while they handle our store operations," Sherly added. "Allowing our customers to have an incredible shopping experience from Ando's official store."

The partnership also leverages TikTok's wide market coverage across the region. For the official inauguration of Ando's TikTok store in December 2021, aCommerce supported the company during a live stream where several successful campaigns, including the 'Buy 1 Get 3 Pairs' and 'Buy Shoes Get Nokia Phone.'

Demonstrated Results

Since the store's soft launch on TikTok, Ando was able to rake in impressive earnings. Across Ando's online stores in other marketplaces, aCommerce's strategic initiatives have already shown remarkable results.

Campaign revenues have posted double-digit growth every month, the biggest ones from the 7.7, 9.9, 11.11, and 12.12 mega sale days. Meanwhile, business-as-usual (BAU) days have substantially increased in revenues, while overall sales have more than tripled.

Aside from the Tiktok Shop launch in December 2021, other significant milestones that Ando achieved with the help of eCommerce's strategic efforts include

– Improvement of order fulfillment
– Maintenance of customer and after-sales service excellence
– Maintenance of good inventory levels
– Initiation of two new campaigns to boost sales:
— Free Gimmick Campaign
— Free Random Mystery Box

Moving forward, Ando intends to expand to another key local marketplace BliBli with support from aCommerce.

"The future looks promising," said Ms.Yulianita as the company witnesses and achieves overall growth on the path toward long-term success. "Both parties strive to grow. Many campaigns and strategies worked extremely well," added Mr. Adang.

Gradiant, Global Water Solutions Provider, Awarded $20M in

New projects deliver Gradiant’s full-technology stack solutions to India’s renewable energy and industrial clients

BOSTON, Nov 16, 2022 – (ACN Newswire) – Gradiant, a global solutions provider for advanced water and wastewater treatment, is pleased to announce awards of $20 million in new contracts in September and October 2022. The awards are for clients in the manufacturing of photovoltaic cells (or solar cells) renewable energy and industrial protective equipment. All three projects will be delivered as design-build contracts.

One of the largest solar companies in India has partnered with Gradiant at a manufacturing site in the Western Region for ammonia and fluoride removal and wastewater treatment. The new facility will recover, neutralize, and treat complex wastewater rinse streams from photovoltaic cell production to levels that meet the client’s sustainability goals and local discharge limits.

Gradiant has also partnered with a leader in the renewable energy business for the design-build of two facilities for ultrapure water and wastewater treatment to support a new photovoltaic cell manufacturing site also in Western Region. The project will include Gradiant’s patented RO InfinityTM membrane technology to treat industrial wastewater streams. The zero liquid discharge (ZLD) facility will reduce wastewater to only salt and solid wastes.

“We are experiencing strong growth in the India market across multiple strategic verticals,” said Prakash Govindan, COO of Gradiant. “India was already one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is well positioned to gain as global companies review their sourcing and manufacturing footprints to de-risk and diversify their supply chains. We are also witnessing a clean energy transition in India, as the country builds out renewable energy infrastructure and its supply to the world. This local market has always been important to India, and Gradiant is ready to support our clients with advanced water solutions as they shift or double-down their local manufacturing operations.”

In addition to these renewable energy projects, Gradiant is working with a leading manufacturer of industrial protective equipment for their new facility in Southern India. Gradiant will deliver an effluent treatment and ZLD waste minimization system. The plant will feature Gradiant’s Carrier Gas ExtractionTM (CGE) for ZLD and SmartOpsTM for AI-powered asset performance optimization, and a membrane biological reactor (MBR) for advanced wastewater treatment.

Gradiant entered the India market in 2018 to engage with major international and domestic companies to solve their advanced water and wastewater challenges in water recycling, minimum and zero liquid discharge, and ultrapure water. Clients are served by in-country expertise from Gradiant’s main office in Chennai while collaborating and leveraging global process and engineering resources. The India team is comprised of 80 expert engineers and staff today, with plans to increase headcounts across the country.
