The research conducted by CleverTap highlights insights from analyzing 42 global brands, running campaigns for millions of customers across more than 50 countries. The research participants included a broad spectrum of professionals, from technical specialists in AI to marketing strategists, including profiles like VPs, CMOs, Data Science leads, Product Managers, and Marketers.

The research study serves as a guide for brands navigating the implementation of AI. Brands at the initial stages of AI adoption should aim to progress towards more advanced levels. This will involve brands needing to shift from using AI for operational efficiency to leveraging it for personalization, experimentation, and ultimately, strategic planning and decision-making.

CleverTap has found that in the customer engagement domain:

  • 54% respondents achieved faster content generation and campaign rollout with AI 
  • 82% of respondents have experienced increased operational efficiency with AI by streamlining workflows and automating content generation
  • 64% of respondents have used AI to build personalized experiences and content resonating with individual preferences at scale with real-time experimentation for optimal engagement
  • 39% of respondents leveraged AI for automated decision-making and taking more informed decisions by analyzing large volumes of data, predicting outcomes and strategizing for the next best action

In terms of adoption of AI by teams within a brand:

  • 71.4% of respondents highlight that AI capabilities are most extensively utilized by content teams, underscoring the pivotal role AI plays in content generation 
  • Followed by growth marketing teams at 57.1% indicating a robust application of AI in strategizing and expanding marketing efforts. Central marketing and product teams also integrate AI into their operations, although to a lesser extent

CleverTap found that brands today miss out on 4x higher conversions and improved business value due to inefficient AI adoption. CleverTap also assessed the impact of adoption of Clever.AI, CleverTap’s AI engine in brands by classifying these into three levels based on their AI-driven use cases in customer engagement.

The research study categorizes brands based on the value they have realized through three distinct levels of AI adoption. These classifications are determined by their use of Clever.AI’s capabilities in driving operational efficiency, enhancing personalization and experimentation at scale, and automating decision-making. 

  • In Level 1, 89% respondents observed operational efficiency as the primary benefit when utilizing Clever.AI’s capabilities

  • In Level 3, around 67% of participants in this category selected AI-automated decision making as their foremost benefit from integrating Clever.AI

eCommerce marketers use only 20% of the best performing emojis: CleverTap’s Art of Emoji Report

CleverTap Report: eCommerce businesses employing real-time personalization see 7x more purchases than those who don’t

Mountain View, Calif, & Mumbai, India, Feb 20, 2024 – (ACN Newswire) – CleverTap, the all-in-one engagement platform, today released its industry data-science report ‘Navigating Personalization: A Balancing Act for eCommerce’ showcasing the importance of tailored personalization strategies across various eCommerce applications. The findings are based on a detailed analysis of 500,000 messages across 43 global eCommerce businesses. 

CleverTap found that eCommerce businesses leveraging use-case based personalization strategies saw 6x more purchases than the industry average, and 7x more purchases than businesses relying on blanket, one-size-fits all personalization strategies. This, alongside the various other insights within the report will help eCommerce marketers drive organic conversions and higher app activity. 

CleverTap assessed personalization via three channels – email, push notifications, and in-app messages. The report establishes the 4 levels of personalization (L1 – L4) and advocates for an optimal blend across different levels to maximize results. These four levels of personalization from least to most personalized are: 

  • L1: Tailors recommendations and promotions based on demographic data, ensuring relevance for distinct customer segments. 
  • L2: Delves into behavior-based segmentation, crafting messages from past customer actions.
  • L3: Predicts preferences and intent, tailoring content and offers accordingly.
  • L4: Leverages real-time data, triggering immediate, highly relevant messages based on current behaviors and events

The report discovered that businesses with higher levels of personalization tend to have better business outcomes. It categorized these businesses into three groups —

Striving: Businesses that use limited personalization with higher send frequencies.

Steady: Businesses that use a high degree of personalization but have lower send frequencies. 

Stellar: Businesses that use a high degree of personalization and optimal send frequencies.

Striving businesses, on average, sent 22 messages to users every week with minimal (L1) personalization, leading to them underperforming the industry benchmark by 77%. 

Steady businesses overlooked L1 personalization; underestimating the power of simple demographic personalization which limited engagement at the generic level. But by prioritizing more advanced levels of personalization (L2 and L4) they outperformed industry benchmarks by 74%. 

Stellar businesses adopted the optimum blend of all four personalization levels, with an emphasis on L4, outperforming the industry benchmark by 500%. Compared to striving businesses, they achieved nearly 7x more purchases. 

Stellar businesses used L1 personalization to successfully promote large-scale events that impacted the customer base at large. Simultaneously, through more granular levels of personalization, they were able to guide customers towards subsequent conversion events. These stellar businesses prioritize behavior-based and real-time messaging over activity-based communication. This approach minimizes intrusive messages following specific customer activities and, instead, focuses on nudging customers only when behaviors of intent are shown.

Latest Survey from Sotera Digital Reveals Shocking State of Mobile Phone Security in the Workplace

NEW YORK, Feb 7, 2024 – (ACN Newswire) – Sotera Digital Security, a leading US based provider of secure communications solutions, has today released its findings from a survey it conducted among over 1,000 senior personnel of large businesses and multinational corporations across the globe.

Sectors covered by the survey participants focused on those that require the need for ultra-secure and private communications – both regionally and worldwide – with clients, colleagues and suppliers; namely legal, pharmaceutical, media and corporate affairs, government, and blockchain / AI tech specialists.

The survey results provide key insights into current mobile phone security practices within the workplace, and reveal a startling lack of awareness among both professionals and their companies of the significant privacy threats with standard smartphones and popular ‘secure’ messaging apps, despite a reportedly growing reliance on such for work-related communications.

Key Findings

70% of the professionals surveyed were unaware that popular messaging apps are vulnerable to privacy attacks. Yet, 96% reported that their company allows the use of Signal and/or WhatsApp from their personal mobile phones for work communications, with over half (57%) reporting an increased usage of such apps compared to the previous year;

90% of the professionals surveyed place more importance on safeguarding the security and privacy on their laptops than their mobile phones, despite 26% having had their mobile phone hacked in the past; 24% reported that their company doesn’t have an official mobile phone policy, while a closer look at those that do reveals that approximately 1 in 4 such policies don’t provide adequate guidance, such as the requirement of  having a password to unlock the device;

87% of companies don’t provide Mobile Device Management or Mobile Application Management to their employees – on both company and privately-owned devices that are used for work communications; Less than half of respondents update their device (48%) within 24 hours of a new software release, meaning over 50% are neglecting Android and IOS vulnerabilities which those updates attempt to patch.

The survey included 1,004 respondents (38% female, 56% male, 6% prefer not to say), between the ages of 20 and 55+ (24% 20-35, 46% 36-45, 21% 46-55, 9% 55+).
